It All Started on a Napkin

Did you know, Junk Rescue started on a dirty napkin, literally! Some people say their idea started on a napkin. Well, ours really did. This napkin symbolizes who we are as a company and what we stand for. You see, this little napkin was only intended to have one purpose in life, then be tossed away with millions of other napkins. Unlike most napkins, this napkin landed in the lap of two brothers who were on to something exciting.

What if nothing had to go to the landfill or the incinerator? Sure, it’s a far-fetched idea, but what if there was a company that tried to make it happen? What if that company was like a rescue squad for unwanted junk, racing through streets and back alleys, trying to save everything they could from the ultimate demise of the landfill and at the same time, rescuing people from junk and clutter?

Our Foundation

Junk Rescue would not exist today if it were not for the hardwork and dedication of our past and present staff. We have been fortunate since our beginning to bring on members who share in our vision and passion for giving junk a second chance.

Junk Rescue was founded in 2009 right here in Charlotte, NC by brothers Blake and Brad Redden. What started as a side hustle quickly became a calling. For over 15 years, the mission of Junk Rescue has always been clear—serve people well and protect the environment in the process.

The original idea was simple: help folks clear their clutter while keeping reusable items out of the landfill. We wanted to build a company that prioritized people and purpose over profit. While diverting all materials from the landfill has proved logistically tough, it remains our North Star. Today, Junk Rescue is a federally trademarked brand with Section 8 & 15 incontestability, and we’re just getting started.
