The Junk Rescue Impact

At Junk Rescue, our mission has always been simple: rescue people from clutter and give usable materials a second chance. Since founding our company in Charlotte in 2009, we have believed that responsible junk removal means more than simply hauling items away. It means helping people regain safe, usable spaces while ensuring reusable materials are donated or recycled whenever possible.

Across the Charlotte area, our team has assisted with hoarding cleanups, helped restore properties affected by illegal dumping, and donated scrap metal proceeds to support burn survivor programs. When larger disasters occur, our team is also ready to step in — including providing dumpsters and cleanup assistance during recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.

Giving Materials a Second Chance

Whenever possible, Junk Rescue prioritizes reuse, donation, and recycling. Items collected during junk removal and cleanout projects are carefully evaluated to determine whether they can be reused, donated, or recycled before anything is sent to the landfill.

This process allows usable materials to stay in circulation while reducing unnecessary waste and supporting organizations that can benefit from donated items. By focusing on responsible recovery practices, Junk Rescue helps ensure that junk removal services contribute positively to both the community and the environment.

Items commonly donated or recycled include:

furniture

electronics

household goods

tools

building materials

metal & appliances

Impact in Action

Junk Rescue believes impact is measured through action. Over the years, our team has stepped in to assist the Charlotte community and surrounding regions during situations where cleanup and debris removal were urgently needed.

Hurricane Helene Cleanup Support
Following Hurricane Helene, Junk Rescue provided dumpsters and cleanup services to assist with storm debris removal and recovery efforts in Western North Carolina.

Supporting Burn Survivor Programs
All scrap metal and appliance pickup proceeds collected through Junk Rescue are donated to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Chapter of the North Carolina Firefighters' Burned Children Fund to support local burn survivor programs.

Helping Families in Overwhelming Situations
From time to time, Junk Rescue assists families facing difficult cleanup situations, including hoarding environments and major life transitions where professional junk removal and cleanout services are needed most.

Nominate Someone Who Needs a Junk Rescue

From time to time, Junk Rescue provides free or reduced services to help people facing overwhelming cleanup situations. These may include families experiencing hardship, difficult living conditions, or circumstances where professional assistance can make a meaningful difference.

Assistance may include services such as:

  • junk removal
  • home or apartment cleanouts
  • hoarding situation cleanups
  • removal of abandoned or illegally dumped items
  • debris removal following unexpected events

If you know someone in the Charlotte area who could benefit from a Junk Rescue, we invite you to reach out and share their story. Our team reviews requests and selects situations where we are able to provide the greatest impact.

Requests are considered based on availability and the scope of the project.

Growing the Mission

As Junk Rescue continues to grow, we hope to expand our impact efforts through additional partnerships, donation initiatives, and community cleanup programs that help keep reusable materials out of the landfill while supporting people facing difficult cleanup situations.

We welcome collaboration with nonprofit organizations, community groups, and others who share our commitment to responsible junk removal, recycling, and helping people reclaim safe living spaces. In some cases, individuals or organizations may also choose to support these efforts through sponsorship or financial contributions that allow us to extend assistance to more families and community projects.
